John S. Wiebe
John Wiebe is a Professor of Psychology. He has served in multiple leadership positions at UTEP, including President of the Faculty Senate, Associate Chair of the Psychology Department, and Head of the Clinical Psychology training group. His research is focused on measurement issues, adherence, and depression in severe chronic illness. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and teaches courses in clinical and health psychology. As Associate Provost, Dr. Wiebe focuses on faculty affairs, research, and community engagement at UTEP. He is also responsible for multiple student success initiatives, overseeing the Campus Office of Undergraduate Research Initiatives, the Miner Learning Center, Developmental Education programs, the Entering Student Program, and the Unit for First Year Retention and Success, funded through a Title V grant from the Department of Education.
